What are some good feats for a DnD 3.5 rogue?

• I just had few questions, my dm is currently out of town and i kind of wanted to impress him instead of hold the game up for an hour with questions :/. 1. I want to go for Dirgesinger (from libris mortis) and the requirements are Knowledge religion 4 ranks and perform 8 ranks. Would skill focus (perform) help relieve the requirements or would they still be the same? 2. Are there any other races that give bonus feats at first level (other than humans)? 3. Best bard race other than gnomes? Thanks so much for your time fellows (and lady fellows) :)

  1: Ranks always require base ranks, rather than skill bonuses. Skill Focus cannot help you get you get the class any sooner. 2: There are some races that give bonus feats at 1st level--however, in all cases that I know of other than Human, the feat is locked in as something like Alertness, rather than being your own choice. 3. It really depends on what books are available. In the PHB, personally, I like humans and half-elves for the role.
