Where can I print my own Taboo game cards?

What is the cheapest way to print a board game and what size cards would you recommend?

  • Answer:

If you are simply making a game for yourself, you should be able to print out a game board to your specifications in pieces on regular card stock. Just print a portion of your game board on one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of 40-lb card stock, another portion on another piece, and so on. After printing out the pieces, put them together, and you have your game board. If you want to make sure the pieces don't slip around, you can get a piece of clear acrylic and place it on top of your board. You can use the piece of acrylic on all of the game boards you print out. As for game cards, I would recommend you use the smallest size card on which you can get all of the text on your wordiest card. The text should be at least 10-point type to make for easy reading. Even if there are only small pictures on the cards, and the pictures are smaller than postage stamps, the cards should be at least 1" x 1 1/2" to make them easy enough to pick up. - LJS
