Where can I find battle chess?

Chess, should I seek to get myself into sharp tactical situations?

  • I admittedly do not have the sharpest chess tactics. Occasionally I will come up with some brilliancy, I even surprised an IM and defeated him in a 5minute blitz, but I thrive more in slower, simple positioned games where I grind out a win through an endgame or just find myself drawn. --Since I know tactics are a weak point of mine, should I purposely avoid them and play to my strength, or would it be more wise to dive right in to tactics. --- I've been studying tactics like crazy and playing things like the King's Gambit and much riskier openings to get myself into the battle. --- I don't possess a uscf rating at this point, however, I fare well against the competition in chesscube at 1800-2100.

try and train with tactics, learn some tactics and create more, if after some time they still do not work for you play to your strength

Play with your strengths, if you are good at endgames and go for it. If you look at most grandmasters, they play thru positions they are comfortable with. The reason why Karpov (one of the greatest ever)switch from e4 to D4 is because slower types of game suited Karpov more. But don't neglect tactics, you are doing the right thing by studying tactics.
