How should I design my Science Fair Board?

• I need help with planning how to design my board for science fair. On my project it consisted of burning wood to see which type of wood gets hottest fastest! So what are good ideas on how to design my board?

  First, start out with an idea. What types of wood are you using? How do you plan on testing them? What type of testing equipment do you have? What types of results are you expecting? Once you have all this figured out, make little cut outs of all of the woods, mock-ups of pictures, testing, and results and place then on your board. Use pieces of paper to write down each type of wood, the test equipment, the steps taken to test, and the results. If you have actual test equipment and/or samples that you can get away with bringing then do so. Once you have all of this figured out, perform the testing and record your results. A judge will look for the following items; how the board is laid out, the materials tested, testing procedures, results of the testing, and conclusion. A well laid out board with proper spelling will definitely catch their eye. Good luck!
