CAN I GET MY ACCOUNT BACK?

Any1 ever got banned on pokerstars? I can get my account back, but I'm not sure I trust them+++?

  • My account got frozen because i had more then one account from pokerstars on my computer and they managed somehow to find out. And now the multi-acocunt specialist from pokerstars' support team emailed and told me if i wanted to retain my main account I'd have to email/fax them some of my I.D. information . Thing is, i never even put any real info on any of my pokerstars accounts other then my email address. For example, i put my street as "123 street" or "123 road", and for my real life names i put fake names and i also put my fake age on it as well. So why are they requiring me to email/fax them my real-life bank account statement, as well as my social security card/social insurance card? I'm kinda worried that they might steal my identity with my information, especially through my social insurance card. But then again I want to get back my account which has all my cash that Ive made on the site. What would you do if you were in this position? By the way, when i email them, support members seem real and ive checked many times that their support team email matches the one on pokerstars.com But, its just odd that the Pokerstars multi-account specialist is asking me for i.d. information to retain my account, when all my information on the account is all fake and false. Can I get your thoughts on this guys? I'd appreciate it very much, cause then I'll be certain on what I should do.

Phil. I find it kind of odd that you are claiming to not trust these people when you've been lying to them all along. Their policy is probably a direct result of what happens when people lie to them. I'm not familiar with their registration process, but I'm curious how you expect to be paid with a false identity? I'm assuming that at some point in time, you will be cashing a check made out to "John Doe" and mailed to a fictitious address? Even a paypal account has to, at some point, revert to your real identity or the cash is no good.

Put yourself in their shoes. You find 2 accounts that are a possible violation of the 1 account to 1 player rule. How they identified these accounts is beside the question. You would want this person to stay as a player because he generates income. Then you have to disable 1 of the accounts. There may also be the possibility that with the millions of people in the world, 2 people may have identical, almost similar, information. Now you send an email to both. If each can identify their identity, then they must be 2 different people and we'll let life go on. If only 1 identity can be verified, then that must be the real deal and the other a fake. It is assumed however that at least one of these information is real. If you wrote your name as Barack Obama then as far as PokerStars is concerned, he is playing and not you. They can't see you through your computer screen. If you wrote a fictitious address and it by chance was my address and you withdrew your money, they'd send it here and you can't claim it. Ask yourself this, do you hold any information that would identify you as the owner of that account? If not, charge it to experience.

I hope you lose your money. Multi accounting!! what a joke if you can't win your free roll with only one account to bad. Try learning how to play better and you won't need any extra accounts.

They aren't stealing your identity. You are fortunate they didn't care to notice the false information you provided them in the first place. Now you are on their radar as a potential cheater, and have to prove who you are. What can't you understand? There are hundreds of thousands of dollars changing hands on that site every day. Security is trying to reduce the amount of cheaters. If you don't want to play there, then don't. If you want to, then follow the rules.

Well your information is very safe with them. I've never heard of anyone using false names and addresses as you'd never be able to cash out :) I'd email them first explaining the situation and giving them your real name and address and ask if given the situation you'd still be eligible to have an account there and if they say yes then send them the ID. If you're that worried go to pokerstars.com or .net and email them yourself, ask if this is a valid email from them and their support team. Spoofing email headers isn't hard so make sure it's from the real deal before handing out all that info, because i have never heard of PS asking for that info. Normally they would only ask for it if you want to cash out and had no way of validating your ID. I mean they could care less who the hell you are as long as the cash stays in their accounts.

If you want to play for real money you need to send them your real information so they can verify that you are of legal age to play on the site and that you are not a cheater. You can never cash out if they don't have your real information. You should probably explain to them what you did giving fake information to protect yourself. Otherwise they might not reinstate your account anyway. If you're not playing for real money and have no intention to, I guess it's time to find another site to play on. No big deal, there are plenty of websites where you can play for fake money. If you don't trust them to have your information, then don't play there. Plain and simple. There's no reason you should be making a fuss about this, you're the one being dishonest, not them. And FYI, I've played there for years, and they've had my information from day one. I've had no problems getting my money when I cash out, and they certainly have not stolen my identity.
