Is the lottery a good idea?

If you win big then it is a good idea. It should be taken over and run better with more people having the joy of a lot of money and never having to work again. And if you look at the number of people who have won big and the amount of money they have shared it is a disgrace, and the lottery is the most vile redistribution of wealth ever seen, and is the poor subsidising the poor . The Euro Millions draw has seen 4 UK winners share over 100 million pounds between them over the past three months, when we could have had say 20 people collect £5 million pounds each.... And these 20 people would have their families looked after also and with say four members of the family there could have been say 80 people very happy......

Is it a good idea for whom? Who ever holds a lottery is guaranteed to make billions. The majority of the players won't ever have a life changing win and many will fall victim to gambling out of desperation. The few who do win big will probably be unprepared for their new found fortunes and will likely mismanage both their fortunes and their life. There's no doubt that there are better ways to redistribute wealth in society but at least a lottery is totally random and hence less likely to be abused like the welfare system frequently is. Despite all of this, I still play on the outside chance that I can trade my current financial problems for more palatable ones.

Lottos a bad idea better to burn your cash then blow it on that.. You'll will die form 2 lightning bolts striking you before winning that crap. Now poker and blackjack two diff things read up on them and you can profit, sports gambling same but thats luck too better then damn Lotto but still luck read up on it and only gamble with what you can afford to loose...........

Its a waste of money. Everytime im at a gas station theres a person that doesnt look very well to do handing out money for a chance to win big. And if they win like $5 they immediately buy another until they use all of the money then just won, and they wonder why they dont have any money!
