Are mall Car sweepstakes legitimate?

Car key in the mail sweepstakes is it real?

• I got one of those sweepstakes in the mails that has the car key attached to it, and a little scratch away thing with a confirm number that says Im a winner. Called the number alls it was was a computer saying I reserved my prize, its for priority chevrolet in chesapeake, is this for real? or can someone explain how the scam works thanks

  Usually, in my experience, it's from a scam artist that will rent a hotel/building and do the same to a hundred+ people. The, they will charge you for the meal plan, travel expenses, booking, yada yada, and before long, all the people that have come will have paid for the vehicle many times over. Or... If they do not go that far, they will get you to sign a contract and/or visit strange companies and all sorts of weird things to get your money. In the end, you end up broke and *so close* to having the car, as they will let you know every time you do one of their steps. Nobody ever gets the car... The reason they have the key attached is to make the whole thing seem more legitimate, as people would wonder why they would waste such money on keys. Also, if the location of the reward is in some obscure place, that is a tell-tale sign of a scam.
