  • Answer:

this is definetly a scam.. someone who is Not associated w/ yahoo is sending this pretending to be yahoo. Did you sign up for anything? If not it is fake. No one does random drawings. & they are asking u to foward info to someone in Africa. There are alot of internet scams coming from Africa.. I guess they will not get prosecuted over there or something. Yahoo is an American based company anyway so anything dealing w/ Africa or the UK is fishy. Do not send them any personal info! Next they will tell you they will send you your check but first you need to send them a check to cover the taxes & then they disapear or they will give you a check & you deposit it but it bounces later. Or they might just ask for your bank account # to deposit it & they will actually withdraw.

http://contests.about.com/od/conttestscams/tp/sweepstakefraud.htm This should put up a large red flag for you. Scam is written all over it. Please do not give out your personal information. Once they have that they sell it to every person they can and the next thing you know you are getting phone calls, emails, junk mail, etc.
