How do you become a contestant on Wheel of Fortune?

I've loved the show Wheel of Fortune forever, but have never heard how contestants are chosen. Can anyone help me get information on this? Thanks.

Below is the Wheel Of Fortune official site. When you click on the "Contestants" tab, it tells you, " Our apologies, this feature is unavailable at this time. Please enjoy the rest of the site." Perhaps they are not accepting applicants at this time.

pdq gave a good start. My guess: check back in mid-September when the new season starts for the chance to apply online for tickets to the show. The other - more accessible - option is to go to the location near you when the WheelMobile is present. The WheelMobile seems to come every 2 years or so (at least, it came 2 years ago here and this year - unfortunately, I was unable to attend this year). http://www.wheeloffortune.com/contestants/wheelmobile/ You can sign up to receive e-mails warning you, but if you watch the show regularly ads will be shown by your station when the WheelMobile is near your viewing area.
