How did derren brown predict the lottery ?

In theory he did not predict the numbers. Predicting is stating something before it happens. But he revealed his "Predictions" after the draw.( His excuse was Camelot did nt allow him to disclose numbers.) Think about it, if he can really do it, why does he make a living as a con artist?

I think Paul has got it spot on, The lack of audience, shaky camera, the balls and him being on different sides of the screen. Plus he said he couldn't reveal his prediction before they were shown on bbc because the lotto wouldn't allow anyone to broadcast the result before them - well, 1) he wasn't broadcasting the results just showing his prediction so he could have shown them if he wanted and 2) if he couldnt show is prediction then none of us would be allowed to show our lottory tickets to anyone. The other thing that gave it away is he didnt reveal each ball immediatly after it was drawn from machine, he waited until they were all out, and paused to write it down, which would give an assistant enough time to put the correct balls in place. Him pretending he spent a year working it out, and leaving out the bonus ball, both made it more convincing, he wanted to trick us into thinking it was somehting that could be worked out to make it more mind boggling, and leaving the bonus ball is like a double bluff, so we would think it cant be an illusion or he would have just included the bonus ball

It is a possibility that this guy understands the law of attraction. The ability to think what ever he wants into being. We all use the law of attraction. However, many unconsciously use it, and lack the conscious understanding in how create their desired experience. bless you!
