If someone won the Lottery 5 times in a row, could they be banned from ever playing it again?
-
I know the odds would make something like this virtually impossible, but I was wondering if someone won, lets say, the powerball 5 times in a row. Raked in almost $1 Billion. Could they be banned from ever playing the lotto again? Just a dumb question I thought would be interesting to ask.

Answer:
No they can not be banned and this guy actually did it!! http://www.playhugelottos.com/en/lottery-news/article/91/ex-mozambiquan-residing-in-canada-wins-the-lottery-5-times.html. As you can tell he was accused of cheating obviously. Why you would WANT to keep playing if you won that much i don't know.

No. The lottery officials know someone will win. Whether you win 100 times in a row, or 100 different people each win once, the lottery pays out the same amount. In the long run, they make money, no matter who wins. However the odds of you winning 5 times in a row are so astronomical, you would no doubt be investigated.

nah what if the person took out a bank loan to cover all the tickets they would hav to pay the bank back - they wouldnt make as much and they would be praying they wouldnt have to share it with anybody (could possible win it 5 times in a row this way) yea could be banned are blamed for witchcraft

Legally, they can't ban someone. However, if something like this did happen, you could bet your rump they'd find a way to strip that person of most, if not all, of their earnings and make it unfavorable for them to ever play again.

thats not a dumb question. they are held in a police station for 5 years, watched in a padded cell, guarded by talking dogs. once released, he is given a doctors license and performs open heart surgery on farm animals that have been mutilated sexually by farmers.
