  There are two options when getting one of those lottery tickets. You can ask the cashier for the "Quick Pick" option and the computer will pick your numbers for you. Or in the store there are slips where you can pick your own numbers and then you give that to the cashier who prints out your tickets. Most do the Quick Pick option but that doesn't mean you have to. After you get your ticket you can watch the drawing on television or check online a couple hours after the drawing to see the winning numbers. Both drawings take place at about 10:59 P.M. Eastern time right before the news. Mega Million drawings are on Tuesdays and Fridays, Powerball drawings are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can go on the Mega Millions or Powerball website which is really the same thing to find out what channel the drawing will be on in your area. Depending on where you live it might not be on TV at all and you can just get the numbers online.
