    Thats a difficult question but logic says, knowing the odds and the percentage play stats. i.e theres a 25% chance of drawing my King on the river or the turn and only 20 chips to win if I do..... also learning to spot the times when an opposing player would be likely to bluff, and calling them if you think youve got a better hand. Another thing you need is patience. You cannot rush to the winning part of the game all in one go, you have to hang on in there and build your bankroll slowly. There are certain times in Texas Holdem when you can fool the other players into thinking youve got an inferior hand, in that sense its about deception, i.e making them think youve got losing cards when you are say sitting on a pair of aces. The most problematic players are the beginners who go all in all the time, they dont give a hoot if they lose all their chips, and calling them often loses chips faster than losing to a good player.

Not playing poker and losing your money makes you a smart player. Poker players are often arrogant, thinking it's all based on skill, but getting good cards really is the key. Poker is super boring in my eyes and the poker players with their silly little tricks to remove their tell tale signs would make for a hilarious reality show. you have to be able to read your opponents and the odds of winning. whatever you do, do not play against inexperienced players i hate that they never know when to fold! ugh makes me sooo mad!!
