What's the catch with the Publishers Clearing House?

Publishers clearing house,has there been a person that has won that can give ne info about it?

• I have known people in the area that have won,but they appeared on t.v. but I would never see them again,because after they would win they would leave.I have just recently received publishers clearing house letter in my mail bow,stating that I could win.I filled out everything,but I am not sure if I should put the forfeit in the envelope,or just in case if I win,should I give it to the people,that show up at my door showing me a check saying,you have just won such and such dollars?I'm confused and I feels I did something wrong.This stuff does work and there are people that have won.
