Are all UCs good colleges?

What northern UCs and CA State colleges have good dance programs?

  I have heard a lot of good things about San Jose State. My friend is going there next year to major in dance. My dance teacher's student went there to study dance. I have yet to visit there myself. I think it would be my UC/CA state dance college of choice. UC Irvine is just too big. I sat in on a class that had over 40 students and it was not even a beginner's class. I don't know anything about Humboldt, SF State or UC Berkeley. Sorry. However! I do know possibly the best book to help you! Creative Colleges by Elaina Loveland. It lists all colleges with dance programs in the country sorted by state and etc. It really helped me find colleges to do more research on. I actually started with a list of 111 colleges from that book. I visited every website to find something perfect for me and now I will be applying to 12 of them. My list was more selected than normal though because I really wanted a college that was more than predominantly ballet and modern with side classes. I hope this helps.
