How do you dance hip hop correctly?

Is it possible to learn how to dance Hip Hop without going to classes?

  • I really want to learn Hip Hop. I'm in dance classes at school, but they usually do ballet and jazz and stuff like that, but i'm more interested in Hip Hop. I don't want to be REALLy good and professional, but best if i can, but just to be able to dance to it, you know? Is it possible to learn by videos on youtube or something else on internet and not going to professional dance classes? And if it is, what do you recommend me doing to learn by myself?

    I learnt to dance off youtube and friends and hip hop is easy because there is so many styles you can go off it. Find what style of hip hop you want to learn and you will most likely find it on youtube. If you want a hand message me on youtube and i will make a video if you like. My youtube account is troona3lord so have a look i only got a couple of videos up coz i have had a bum knee so its been hard to dance but im back now :)

yes i taught myself everythinhg, and i am an aweosme dancer of hip hop and others, i didnt need know classes, i can teach u whatever u want to know...i be shakin dat ***..hehehe...love ya..good luck

Well, some people are born with the gift of dancing, and some just aren't, in my opinion, i don't think you have to take classes to be good. your born with it. you can look on youtube or google and they'll give you tips on how to dance better, you'll have to search and find out, i'm sure you will find what your looking for.

No, you cannot learn from books or videos. To be able to dance correctly, you need a live teacher to correct you. If you have a friend or relative that does hip-hop dance, you could ask him/her to teach you. If not, you need to find a real class to learn it in. Especially with the harder moves, you could hurt yourself if you don't do them correctly, so you really do need someone to help. Check around at local dance studios. You should be able to find something somewhere. Good luck!
