What should I wear for a belly dancing class?

What are hard shole shoes? I'm taking a salsa dancing class and it says to wear hard sole shoes.?

Something like tap shoes, without the taps, character shoes, or regular shoes that are "appropriately attached to your foot." I'm joking a bit, but I mean shoes with snug straps that keep your foot from wiggling in the shoes. What they don't want are ballet shoes, or regular jazz shoes.

it means the shoes need to have a hard cover, not soft boundaries. remember that salsa is a very fast paced dance and your feet need to move only from the ankle up. Azucarrrrrrrrr!!!

They're suggesting leather soles. Rubber soles won't allow proper turns and will be likely to cause injuries.
