Where can I find tap dance in Queens?

Is it hard to learn how to tap dance?

  • Because ive been thinking about starting tap. Most likely hip-hop tap if i can find any classes that specialize in that. So i just wanna know the level of difficulty of tap dancing and is it hard to tap dance to a song? Thanksss!

  • Answer:

Trust me,I began studying long ago and i was all about ballet. Then Iearned that my chances of working in theater would increase if I added more danc forms to my rep.Try it! Tap ia a lot of fun!A lot of work, but,if can keep a beat, your feet will tell you how to do the rest!Dancin'is dancin',hon.I wish you all the best!(By the way when you get fitted for tap shoes,go for comfort, and,if you're a girl, start with flats!

depends on how well you pick it up some people do real well at picking things like that up, but then there are others who struggle...so its hard, but it depends on you

If you have the interest, you should pursue it. Go ahead and take a beginning class if you are unsure of your level. It is a safe way to do something new. You will be with a group of people who are all beginners. Heck, I took tap in the first grade. You surely have more skills than a 1st grader. Good luck.

I'm taking hip hop tap... its very fun. the level of difficulty could be a challenge especially if you're not experienced... but you should try it out and if its to hard you can switch to another class. Tap dancing so a song is easier than you think.... you just tap to the beat and rhythm of the song.

Well it depends if you get it or not. When you don't know wats going on, then its not your thing. If you do and know wat all the rythms and beats are, Keep practicing! Happy tapping!

Go for it. You only make it as hard as you can. It is hard to dance to a song in that you have to match the rhythm of your feet to the rhythm of the song.

Tap is great. If you are interested do some research and find out who the most popular tap teachers are in your area. Next try all the ones on your list and see if you click with any of them. Most studios will let you do a drop in to see if you like the class. Of course you want to start with a beginners class. If you stick with it , and practice you can go up a level or 2 quickly. Next give it some time, at least 6 months to get your basics and see if it is something you like. As with many things, it's sometimes a little slow to get your foundation, but once you have the basics it can get very fun to see your progression and improvement. Tap gives a sense of freedom and a form of dance that you can really add your own flavor to.
