What are some good costume ideas?

  • My friends and I are doing a team baton routine. Ther are four of us. Our song is "Work This Out" form High School Musical2. Does anyone know any good online websites with dance costumeor have any cool ideas? It is a hip-hop kind of song.

    First of all, nice choice of song, love it ! Second, I have some good ideas for costumes. I think you shoud wear baggy capris like the ones in the address below. They would give your routine more of a laid-back, loose feeling. You can see in the picture that the girl is just wearing a black tank that has accents of the color that the pants are. Red may not be that flatering so I think all four of you should get the same outfit, but each person be a different color. For example, one girl could have blue pants with and black tank top that has the same color blue in it. You could do the same with pink, orange, and purple. Black or white sneakers are a must! if you have some time to wait for costumes check out: "A Wish Come True" and "Costume Gallery". They have good selections - not sure of the exact websites, but if you google them you should find them alright. If you can't order beacuse you're not from a studio, etc. I suggest getting intouch with a local studio/dance team and having them put an order in for you. Some costume companies won't let you order if you're not a dance teacher/coach/owner/etc. One more idea - contact studios in your area, they might have some hiphop costumes you could borrow or buy!
