What do you have to do to try out for cheerleading?

Cheerleading try-outs are in one week!! What should I do to prepare?

  • I didn't make it last year, so I'm a little nervous. I really want to make it. Should I go on a (vegetarian) diet? Should I work out more? Both? What should I work on (other than my cartwheels and the splits, they're my weak spots)? What are some possible requirements? My school colors are black and gold, so what should I wear to try-outs? I was thinking Soffe shorts and tank tops, but I don't know what brand(s) carry those colors. The gold is a goldenrod yellow color. Any advice is helpful!

    first of all calm down because if your nervous you aren't going to do as well, one thing you can do to help is do A LOT of stretching (but don't do so much, because u don't want to hurt yourself) and do some conditioning like jumping jacks, lunges, etc. you should also do kicks and stretching before jumping because it will help a lot and don't worry about colors it would really matter if you can fing those colors than go for it but i don't think you won't get on the squad just befcause you didn't wear the school colors, you could always wear ribbon that is your school colors, remember to just have fun and impress smile no matter what even if you totally mess up GOOD LUCK!!!!

u dont have to wear ur skool colors to tryouts wear sumthing comfortable u can move it practice vertical and horizontal splits also they look at ur voice projection and cartwheels dont really matter that much in cheerleading u dont really do cartwheels in high skool u will need to kno how to do a back flip or back handspring depends how the skool is

You probably shouldn't have waited until the last minute to practice. Keep in shape, exercise, practice your routine. You should have asked ahead of time what the requirements are so you know what to do and what to practice.

Wear shorts or a skirt and a tank top. Work on you routine. And you should have prepared a while ago, not now! Don't go on a diet, but work out and get flexible. Do whatever moves you're best at so you can show those off. Look at the mall for colors. I hope this helps! :)

Work on your jumps: Russian, Pike, Side & Front Herky. Work on having sharp motions. Practice basic motions such as L, T, broken T, K, high V & low V. Good luck!
