I want to learn how to do the splits real bad! But im not flexible! D: im desperate?

Well i want to do the splits so i can show off to ppl haha... I used to kno how to do the splits when i was like 7 but stopped cause i ripped my shorts!lol xD im a dancer except idk if im flexible cause i can move my body like i have no bones lol (i can do the worm) but i cnt touch my toes.. Soo yeah i wanna learn how to be flexible so i can do the splits :) i wanna be like those gymnastics ppl

Sit on the ground with your legs together, straight out in front of you. Reach over your legs towards your toes. Don't bow or arch your back. It is very important to keep a straight back. Try to bring your chest closer to your legs, instead of your arms. Hold this stretch for approximately 20-30 seconds. Don't bounce down. Then do the same thing with one leg at a time Lunge forwards with your front leg at a right angle and your back knee to foot along the ground for 30-60 seconds. Reverse it and straighten your front leg and stretch over it. (stretch hamstrings) Return to the original lunge position. This time pull your back leg towards your behind, with your hand. ( stretch your quads) Stretch against a wall: Lie with your back on the floor with your posterior fairly close to a wall and your legs up and against the wall. ( this might look funny, but oh well gotta get those splits), spread your legs to each side. Gravity and the weight of your legs will help to push them down. Hold for 1 minute. Also try butterfly stretch, russian splits ( over left leg, right leg and center), sit on your back and raise your leg straight up the other leg should be straight on the floor and switch. Remember to stretch everyday for 15-30 minutes.

okay so everyday when you have time you work on your splits go a little further everyday and u will see a lottttttt of progress, then if you want to become more flexible anywhere else do the same thing everyday go a little further and lower , it might hurt but no pain no gain

If you like watching tv, you can do the right leg splits for 2 ads and switch to left leg splits the next 2 ads then change to middle splits for the next 2 ads then repeat. If you do this for like 30 minutes(average time a program runs) you will improve. My dance teacher said that for you to improve greatly you have to enjoy the pain.

stretch every day. Floor stretches are really helpful. Even stretching in a strattle will help you. Try going up against a wall and doing a strattle there. then push yourself towards the wall. Also if you lay on your back and put one leg on the floor, and one leg up towards the ceiling and pull your leg towards you thats a good stretch too. One more is the heal in the hand stretch. You stand up and grab your heal from the INSIDE. Try to pull your leg up from the side with both legs straight. Make sure you point your toe! You just have to try to keep working at it every day. Make it a goal, try to set a date that you think you can have your split by. That really helps motivate me! When you are at dance work really hard when you are stretching. If you are like in between classes and you are waiting for your dance teacher try stretching then. But don't just stretch at dance, try to stretch and do your splits everyday. Try to hold them each for at least 30 seconds. If it hurts, you know you're doing it right!!! :) YOU CAN DO IT!

every day you practice heres what you do you do the furthest you can and hold it for 5 seconds the next day do it again try to go lower and hold it for 10 seconds everyday add on 5 seconds
