How to find dance auditions for teens in Canada?

• I'm 15, a contemporary/jazz dancer, and I don't know where to look for auditions for things like musics videos etc. Are there any websites (that are legitimate) that post dance auditions in Canada, preferably in the eastern part of Canada. :) Thanks

  There is very little call for dancers your age for music videos unless it is for Disney and you look 12 not 15. Dancers in music videos are intensely trained dancers with strong ballet technique as well as other genres of dance training. They are grads of major dance conservatories. I know a recent grad of Juilliard who is doing back up dancing for Kelly Clarkson and another who is Ailey trained, ballet academy trained, and a dance grad of LaGuarida Arts high school (the FAME school) who dances back up for Janet Jackson. She also finished 4th on season 6 of SYTYCD (USA.) You are way too young and because of that you are also undertrained because of your age. If you want to do this, then work on your dance technique for the next few years so you can be ready when you are old enough. Legitimate auditions for work for music videos is not posted out in the open for everyone or else a million girls your age and older would show up. Jobs are gotten by either having an agent or by having worked with a certain choreographer before. To get an agent you must have worked professionally already or they wont be interested in seeing you. Most dance jobs in music videos are also union jobs and you would have to join the union which is both expensive for initial cost and dues as well. You cannot get a union card without a union job.
