How can i be more motivated?

How can I stay motivated to become a breakdancer?

  • OK so i'm 14 years old and i have recently decided that i want to become a break-dancer when i'm older, doesn't necessarily mean that i will but my friends and i think i have the potential. And i really enjoy dancing so i thought maybe i should i just go for it, if others can why can't i? Even though i am not in any particular dance classes atm, i'm just going independently-learning breaking from the computer. I first started dancing when i was 6 or 7 and then i stopped and went back to it, but i just wasn't satisfied with the actually dancing. (i have done many sports between but i never enjoyed them so i quit pretty much everything) so i stopped and it has been a couple years since i have danced in an actually studio. But i am always catching myself dancing in my room or to some music walking down the street. And this dancing just wasn't like the rest of the dancing i have done and i realized that i some what naturally picked up break dancing I showed my friends what i could do after watching the movie "Step Up 3"(thats when all this big fantasy started).Whenever i'm dancing, i just do it, like naturally and i feel so happy when i am, its almost like the real me shows. Also when im dancing i just wanna keep going and i wish i could do it forever but all those thoughts kind of go away when i stop dancing. Maybe i thought to highly of all of this at the time, but theres still something inside of me that doesn't wanna give this up. I don't know much about break-dancing but i am trying to learn the footworks and different movements, and researching for dancing schools or university's that maybe i should go for. i have started to train myself for later on- A jog in the morning and afternoon, as well as eating healthy, stretched and little exercises adding to it. But the only thing is, is that is this to much? Should i just live my teenager years and not worry about it? Or should I go with it because i know i have always wanted to be a dancer, but maybe this is all to much? And i don't want to just let this opportunity slip away. If anyone has any advice for me, i would really appreciate it, i'm just so confused (like a little bundle of frustration) from when i decided my "life career" just a few weeks ago, i thought i had my life just lined out but the negative thoughts are starting to jump in. This could be a big dream come true or a big disaster waiting to happen. Suggestions?

Alright. Truth is, by the way you explained it this seems like a very important thing to you. That is the exact way I feel about dancing too, but I don't know where to start either. But, what was in step up 3 wasn't break dancing, rather it was hip hop. Hip hop is very fun, and very stylist. Kind of like jazz, but with a little hint of the streets in it. NO. You thinking that you just want to 'live your young years' is WRONG. You need to get started, the sooner the better! The more experience you'll have, and the better you'll be! If practice makes perfect, then the sooner you start the sooner you'll reach your goal. Honestly, by the way you explained how you feel, I think you should go for it! Go ahead and find a hip hop dance studio near you! :D please answer my question? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlvUy5y.r2mjhbFAiEEVNKTty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100812210654AA7TmYo
