How do i learn to break dance?

  • i have a school dance this spring but i don't know how to dance and i can't take lesson becuz religon but my parents said i could go to 1 dance i want to learn to break dance any idea's THANKIES

heya :-) im a self-taught breakdancer (2 years in junee) and i learned everything i know from youtube :-) they have everything from six-step to windmills, baby freeze to chair freeze, popping to locking, tutting to waving and so on :-) i really recommend youtube because its great :-)!

Ask some of your friends if they wanna do breakdance, then if they do - use them to convince your parents to let you go with them...? If that doesn't work, your friends should go on lessons and then teach you what they learn in lessons :D other than that, you can always learn from videos... :) hope I helped

Aside from You Tube try to look up if there are going to be any kind of work shops or break dancing events in your area or one near by. You Tube can show you what moves are like, but the emphasis of being a Bboy or Bgirl is to develop your own style and gain experience. Even if you don't plan on participating at those events, just go to be inspired and possibly even ask people for some pointers.
