Thorpe Park in rain?
-
Im going to thorpe park on Tuesday and its forcasted to rain... ....what rides will be closed if it rains?? And will it be much quieter cos of this??

Answer:
Yes it will be quieter by a lot, and also VERY quiet if its a weekday because everyone is at school and work! The rides will be almost walk-on, maybe not Saw because its new but that still will be shorter than a sunny weekend! I think Stealth will close, Mr Monkey's Bannana ride is never open anyway, Zodiac (possibly) and maybe Colossus too, but if the rain eases off they may re- open. Rides I'm pretty sure will stay open are the water rides (Tidal Wave, Logger's Leap and Rumba Rapids), I think X:// No Way Out will, and other indoor rides. Check out the forecast on the day (it will be more accurate then, but dont forget the forecasters arent always right) and check out the website www.thorpepark.com on the day and at the side there's a "rides currently unavailable" box and it tells you there. Bring comfy shoes that are waterproof and wear warm clothes and a raincoat because last time I went to thorpe, I went on tidal wave and the weather was freezing, so I was wet and cold at the same time because i didnt wear my coat lol! ps: soz for a long answer!

It depends on how hard it is raining. If it is just a drizzle the rides will stay open, If there is a large amount of rain then all the rides will be closed due to safety reasons

Thorpe Park will remain open in the rain. The rain and even lots of clouds tends to keep people away and many people leave when they start closing rides. Rides are generally closed as soon as the rain and/or the wind picks up. The wind picking up affects many of the taller roller coasters, as well as any "air" type rides like ferris wheels and things that go up in the air. When the drizzle or sprinkling turns into a heavy downpour, rides will start to close. Steel roller coasters generally close first, followed by wooden roller coasters, "car" type attractions (bumper cars, go kart, type things, etc), followed by rides that spin. As soon as the weather clears, the rides generally begin to re-open.

yeah, i went when it was raining a couple of weeks ago, it was definitely quieter which is good cause we got onto the rides straight away, with no queues and junk to wait in. erm, well Collosus was shut at the begining but as the rain went it opened, a couple of other rollercoasters were shut for some time, i don't know why, maybe the rain effects them? but the water ones were all open, like tidal wave, loggers leap, wetwetwet etc...but the beach was closed. There was really heavy rain when i went aswell, so i think you should be fine. Its quite fun in the rain too, surprisingly. haha. :) just wear appropriate clothing, i dried of really quickly when i wend :D
