The first time I went on a rollercoaster was in Year 7 when we had a trip to Thorpe Park and that was collussus but I was crapping myself..Loool x My friends and I went on nemisis but I got off the ride as I was really scared to go on. That claw ride that swings...I cried back in year 7 and refused to go on it...I obviously can't do that now.Any advice to stop being scared of heights and help me ?? I'm absolutley DREADING the trip..I've handed in my form so I HAVE to go ! I don't want to look like a baby and wimp in front of my friends and the rest of my year...(My friends' not so much...but it's the rest of my year (They're all kinda chavvy and will make fun out of me if I freak out on a ride.) HELP PLEASE...THANKS xxx p.s- Would it be less scary if I closed my eyes durning the ride ?

Answer:
I was on Big Thunder Mountain for the first time at Disney once and closing my eyes did help a little. Maybe you should try to just tell your friends that you can't do it, and don't let them pressure you into it if you don't want to do it. Like another poster said, try to take some camera equipment to take pictures of them so you don't have time to do the rides!

During trips to Carowind's *around where i live closet Amusement park in NC* well i have a deathly fear of heights to my friends and me go and usually we go on every roller coaster usually to where by that time im shaken im not gonna tell you my suspensions about how i think the ride will screw up. the rides are durable if you just close your eyes once in a while it should help
I hate heights too and I would simply refuse to go on the rides. Let them laugh if they want. Why put yourself through such an uncomfortable experience? It's hard when you're young to set yourself apart in this way as being 'different' but when you're older you'll learn you can simply smile and firmly, confidently say no - if you're confident about it people won't pick on you. Suggestion - borrow some decent camera equipment and set yourself up as the 'official' trip photographer, taking pics of your schoolmates' on the rides. That way you won't have time to go on the rides yourself.
