Is 40,000 people a lot at Disneyland?

  • Someone told me there will be about 40,000 people at Disneyland July 11,2010 (Sunday). Is 40,000 crowded, average, or low FOR Disneyland?

    It'll probably be closer to 60,000, but not all entering the park will be there at once. The busiest time, and the one I always avoid is 12-3pm (back to the hotel for lunch, swimming and napping). Disneyland saw 15 million visitors last year, that alone is an average of 40,000 per day. During the summer, you must, must, must have a strategy for riding the popular rides. You must get there at 8am or before, and/or plan to stay as late as possible.

If you find a day during the summer when there is only 40,000 people then you are a magician!Especially considering you are talking about a Sunday to boot! 40,000 is the average daily attendance at Disneyland, that is considered a "normal crowd" but not a heavy summer crowd. It will be a lot more crowded then that on July 11, 2010. If you want to avoid the crowds, don't go during the summer, and if you must go during the summer, go on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Ate you sure it wasn't 4,000??? I go to Disney a lot but its never that crowded

It's gonna be crowded because its a weekend. I went to Disneyland last July 1st and it wasn't crowded cause it was a Thursday. Its ok though cause you can use FAST PASS for the major rides like Space Mountain and Indiana Jones. Anyways, HAVE FUN! :)

40,000 is pretty crowded, but not horrible. Figure 1-2 hour wait times for popular rides.
