What is the best way to capture footage on a roller coaster?

  • I'd like to get a video of myself riding a roller coaster and I was wondering what was the best way to do this to keep my camera from being dropped or getting damaged while I'm on the ride. I've considered duct taping it to my hand, would this work, and if so what's the best way to apply the tape?

    I wouldn't recommend it, simply because you're generally not allowed to take on-ride videos, but if you *really* want to then the best way is to take a camera that has something you can wrap around your wrist really well, and just hold on...and try not to get caught. And if there's an on-ride photo, hide the camera the best you can.

You can get in serious trouble for doing that. You don't want to be ejected from the park.

you can't do that. you could just get a picture if the park has one of the cameras by the coaster

I wouldn't try taking a camera on the ride... A couple of years ago, I was riding 'Wild West Falls' at Movie World, Australia. We got stuck going up the hill because someone was filming with a camera - and a person saw them filming and stopped us going up at a 70 degree angle. You see if someone drops a camera and it lands on the tracks - the next coaster car to hit it could crash - leading to fatality. Not to be a negative Nancy. But some rides have cameras built-in to the seat in front, and some pass a camera while going down a hill, where you can purchase the photo. Good luck!

Well I'm pretty sure you won't be allowed on the ride with a camera duct taped to your hand...you want a video of yourself? Like the camera aimed at your face? Hold it between your legs and squeeze with your legs. Shouldn't go anywhere.
