Thorpe Park: How scary is the Saw the ride line?
-
Ok so it may sound dumb but I'm going to Thorpe Park with some friends and I really want to go on Saw the ride (because the rollercoaster looks really good) but Saw Alive the horror maze has broken down and so apparently now alot of the actors from that will be in the line as you wait to go on the ride + I've heard that there is a bit before where you go in a room and people are being tortured and stuff :S so anyway how scary do you think it will be? I don't like that kind of stuff and I cant handle it if actors start grabbing me or whatever + do you think it's worth it for the ride?

Answer:
Queue: SAW - The Ride's queue is themed to be frightening, however, once you have been on the ride once, you are no longer frightened by the queue as you know what's going to happen and when it's going to happen. You start off by walking past the SAW Store into the main entrance (the Fastrack entrance cuts out the entire outside section of the queue), and walk through what appears to be the site of a derelict warehouse, with all kinds of metallic machinery, tires, pallets, and things like that which you'd expect to see in a warehouse. The music played involves a lot of eerie sound effects, including barking dogs, emergency sirens and police officers communicating to eachother via two-way-radio. People dressed as 'pigmasks' are also roaming around the outside section of the queue, and may jump at the fence every so often. As you enter the indoor section of the queue, you are greeted by four large shotguns which are tied to the ceiling. Every minute, they are 'fired', with a flash of strobe light and a violently loud bang. After this, you walk past a man in a bloody shirt trying to escape from one of Jigsaw's traps, he is rattling chains and muffling under his taped mouth. A few more actors are also roaming around the queue, with their faces painted black and white, wearing long, black, hooded gowns. They rarely jump out at you, but will interact with you. Located throughout the queue are televisions which every so often show a 'broadcast' from Jigsaw. As you near the station, you see many mannequin models in traps, as well as a realistic corpse that appears to be tangled in barbed wire. Ride: As the ride leaves the station, it enters a dark room where Billy Jigsaw, the famous puppet used in the SAW films, gives a talk about what you are to expect during the ride. You leave this room to his cruel laughter, then enter another dark room, where you see two swinging blades, directly in front of the car. The car approaches the blades until they are just inches away from your face, then, suddenly, enters a vertical drop, taking you to the next room, where you will see many shotguns and arrows aimed at you. Bangs are heard and air is blown from above. You then enter the final room, where you see a bloody corpse on the tiled floor. The car then enters a barrel roll, and 'blood' is squirted at you from the corpse. As you exit the building and approach the lift hill, two small screens are seen above the track. Billy Jigsaw appears and simply says "Game over.", then the screen goes blank to the sound of his cruel laughter. The ride itself contains a 100ft lift hill, 100° drop, three inversions, an airtime hill and a mid-course break run. As you re-enter the station after the ride, you see Billy Jigsaw's head on a shelf filled with mannequin body parts, to the sound of Jigsaw congratulating you. Exit Line: As you exit the ride, you may pass another pigface actor. This actor will not jump out at you. You then pass a set of weighing scales hanging from the ceiling, carrying the severed head of Jigsaw. You see one last broadcast from Jigsaw, then exit the building, where you will find the SAW Store, and be able to buy ride photographs and DVDs. I hope you have a good day at the park!
