Disney Studios or Universal Orlando?

Everyone tells me Universal Studios (in Orlando) is better than Walt Disney World?

  • I hear it all the time from kids at school, my cousins, and I've read more Universal positive reviews than Disney. I personally love Disney, I've visited every year since the year after I was born. My parents even grew up visiting Disney. We've read enough about Universal to figure that we wouldn't be interested. We're not allowed to watch a lot of the movies represented in their parks, and Islands of Adventure seems like a park we might try once. Universal Studios on the other hand seems really boring. We might have gone back when Back to the Future or the Hanna Barbera ride, or the Ghostbusters show were there, but the rest of it seems boring. I'm not one of those people who loves intense rides, like Universal boasts. Disney's fun and thrilling rides are enough for me. Even more so, most of Universal's rides seem like copies of Disney. Dudley Do-Right is basically a bad attempt at Splash Mountain. Sure the drop is bigger, but I heard the story just plain sucks. Is Universal really better? (please, nobody say that Disney sucks and that Universal is really that awesome that it trumps Disney in every way) Would I even be interested? I hate superheros and intense thrills (save Rock 'n Roller coaster) and most of the movies like Jaws or the Mummy or Jurassic Park, or Men In Black, I'm not allowed to watch or I couldn't sit through them. The Simpsons is just awful to me. Is there anything I'd enjoy? I'm a Harry Potter buff, and figured I'd like their Wizarding World of Harry Potter section at Islands of Adventure. Is their Citywalk even free to enter? I heard you have to pay to enter CityWalk. Is it really a good idea for me to do Universal or should I stick with Disney because I love it and have grown up with it? Thanks!

It honestly just depends on what you like! I've been to both and personally like Universal Studios better then all Disney Parks, however I did like Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios more then Islands of Adventure(This was before The Wizarding World of Harry Potter). You definitely don't need to watch the movies or shows to appreciate the ride. If you like Rockin' Roller Coaster you can do every roller coaster at Universal even though RRC is tame. Jaws is ridiculously cheesy but other then that all are quality rides. Revenge of the Mummy is like a mix between Rockin' Roller Coaster an Expedition Everest if you can even comprehend it. Rides like Rip Ride Rockit and Disaster are good quality rides that most enjoy. You may not like it as much and you may like it more but it is something you really should try.

POTTER 4 EVA personally i don't like universal but i go just because im a huge potter nerd

Well it all depends on what you like, Like with my mom, she went to Disney every day when she was little because she got in for free and she loved it, and it was her "hang out" spot, she only just recently took me for the first time, and this is after i have grown up with parks like Wild Adventures and Busch Gardens, so I love the thrilling rides, and i went to Universal and I liked all those rides, even though I may hate superheros, i still liked the rides. whereas, when I went to Disney, i liked the stories just fine, but I was bored out of mind, and the best rides were the thrilling ones (Rock n Roller coaster and the drop ride) then anything else that went fast (midway) or something like the Winnie the Pooh ride simply because it was colorful... I mainly saw in Disney; cartoon, slow rides, that would be good make out spots with guys, and then Universal; thrilling rides that give you an adrenaline high... sorry if i veered off topic, but there it is

I love disney, but I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd. After goign to disney every year, it might feel weird if you dont go, but I DO think that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is somethign you have to see once in your childhood, or even early alduthood. Oh at any age its very amazing! The hogwarts ride was breathtaking:) Not even the ride, just the tiny bits of hogwarts you get to see. I almost cried. No kidding. On the down side, it take forever to even get in, the lines are awful...but it was worth it. Every second... It something you just gotta do once in your life, man. But I DO really really love Disney worldxD
