What should i wear to a renaissance festival?

  • i'm going to one for the first time tomorrow. i know you can wear what ever but i'd like to get a bit more in character i don't have any renaissance costumes or i'd certainly wear one. should i wear a cute flowy sundress to feel more idk i guess elegant like all the workers? i've heard you can rent costumes right at the festival to wear around but i have no clue of prices and i don't want to break the bank just to rent one cuz i'm already spending $25 to get in plus i need to eat lunch and i'd like to buy some jewelry cuz i hear that they have beautiful hand made, good quality stuff.

    think robin hood ,dont dress so upperclass youll embarrase yourself, upperclass wasnt "in" back in the days.if all fails show some cleavege me lady.itll make the boys howl to the moon

what i did was go wearing normal clothes but as you go through the fair buy a bunch of little things like swords, jewelry, and things like that to make it look like you were dressed for the occasion or you can were jester or knight costumes...
