I want to enter a career in Roller Coaster Building, what should I major in in college/ prepare for in HS?
-
I'm 14 Years old, and a freshmen in high school. I have decided that a career in Roller Coaster Building is the one for me, but I don't know how to prepare. I know CAD is a way to start, but is there anything else? Also, college? What to major in? Any good colleges? (Preferably on the West Coast, but I wouldn't mind other places) All Help is appreciated!

Architecture, probably. If you're going to build structures, it's probably going to be like architecture. I'm no expert on schools or career paths, but having interned and architecht once and having some connections with the AIA (American Institiute of Architects), I know it's best to take courses and do well in math/ science classes along with art. It's important to be in accellerated math, and to be taking drawing/ sketching classes, as I'm sure this would become routine in your future, regardless of what it may actually be. Very origioinal and unique career ambitions, can't say much more. Good luck!

you might want to major in Engineering. that is the closest thing for building/designing Roller Coasters.

Engineering, Math, Physics. CAD can show the way to curves, etc, but you will need the knowledge of Stress and Strain and how to apply it.

Engineering, Physics or Architecture would be a start. A masters is probably the level degree you want to shoot for.

Mechanical Engineering would be best, structural wouldn't hurt as a minor.
