Best rides at Six Flags, Great Adventure in New Jersey?
-
I'm going next week and I was wondering which rides I should ride first. I'm not a big roller coaster enthusiast, but I'm determined to ride at least 4 of them. I'd also like to ride some other rides besides roller coasters. So if you have rode most of the rides at Six Flags, Great Adventure in New Jersey please tell me what ride I should start off with first by the "intensity" of the ride. Thanks in advance! (:

Well honestly it sucks that you are going to Great Adventure and do not like rollercoasters...over the past few years, A LOT of the "flat" rides (i.e. non-rollercoasters) had been taken out and it had evolved into a "rollercoaster park". I definitely think that the best ride there is El Toro, so hopefully you can work your way up to El Toro and/or Nitro. Regarding the other rides, they aren't that great...I guess the rapids is neat, Twister is okay if they have it on a good cycle. The parachute ride is actually pretty fun, you get a good view of the park, so I would recommend going on that. As far as rollercoasters, the least intense would be the Mine Train, Skull Mountain, Rolling Thunder, and Dark Knight. You can easily go on all of them since I would categorize them as "family coasters". The other coasters, although bigger, are much better in terms of excitement levels. So honestly, Six Flags Great Adventure really does not have that much in terms of non-coasters for teens/adults (they have kiddie areas, but that does not concern you). They have the normal amusement park rides like the swinging ship, sky ride, ferris wheel, swings, etc., but nothing that is intense - Twister (their "top spin" ride) is probably the most "intense" out of the non-coasters. I hope you find things to ride...you really should try out the coasters, maybe you'll learn to love them the day you go since you are going to a place known for their coasters. Honestly if you are not into rollercoasters, I think that Dorney Park or Hershey Park would be much better choices for you, they also have great coasters you can try, but they have a lot more "flats" that would suite you. At any rate, hope you have fun. I think you can definitely at least ride the parachutes, and some of their other "standard" rides (swinging ship, etc.), and at least the "family" coasters. Once you do the smaller coasters, I would recommend trying Bizarro next - it's not too intense and the new effects are fun. After that, try Batman the Ride, Nitro, or El Toro. Then perhaps Superman Ultimate Flight and Kingda Ka. Have fun!

Since, you don't really like roller coasters, don't go on Kingda Ka (its the tallest & fastest roller coaster in the world). You should go on El Toro.

el toro is THE BEST rollercoaster there. nitro i would say is second. Kingda ka is really stupid. really really stupid. but i guess you should go on it just to go on it. though i would go on the other coasters first. kingda ka is really short, and really stupid. no lies. once the ride is over you would be like wtf this is stupid. superman is a pretty fun coaster too, and bizarro. batman is okay, but i think superman and bizarro are better. rolling thunder is pretty crappy. nothing compared to el toro, except more bumpy and you can feel the difference. i would say superman and bizarro are the least intense. they are both really slow. but i think superman is faster by a bit. they are both really comfortable and not scary at all. so if you like that you can go on them first. batman isn't scary either but when i go on it my head keeps bumping on the seat support thing, but it doesn't hurt. el toro is the most intense. kingda ka isn't intense. the launch is pretty fast, but not scary. and the drop is not

my favorite was actually skull mountian, its so much fun!! u should try it 4 sure!!! also rolling thunder. These rides are fun and they won't make u sick. You can try el toro, it isn't scary at all, it goes so fast you can't even feel the drops or enjoy the ride! it hurt my neck 2, but i wouldn't mind riding it again. You should star off with the run away train, its not scary but it is fun. You can also go on the water flume an the water rapids, but prepare to get kinda wet with those (they are water rides after all lol)
