Need help on roller coasters?

i'm going to alton towers theme park in 1 week.I have been 2 weeks ago,and rode my first big coaster,RITA.i really really like it,i have never been on a upside down coaster before and im really scared because ive been on rides before that really scare me.i hate heights so the climb to the top really puts me off, also whilst im waiting in the queue i get really nervous and chicken out. i have queued for air about 3 time now and not managed to get the guts to ride it. im scared of the height of the ride, the climb to the top, i hate my belly being dropped that sensation puts me off rides,im also scared i will chicken out and not like the ride. i always say to myself if im scared close your eyes and think about something else and before i know it, it will be over, but i always bail out and can't do it. i need help because i regretted it and i really want to go on it because i will go on more bigger rides than air. HELP ME PLEASE...

i know how u feel, this is wat i did: i didnt close my eyes, cause thats wat makes me feel worse, i didnt think about the height, just how fun the ride was, and i kept on going on scary rides, cause even tho im scared, i learned to get my fear away, and that its not rlly that scary. if ur a religious person, u can pray while ur on the ride, if that helps. im not sure if this helps, but it did to me :)

Unfortunately for you there is no magic pill that you can take before hand to calm your nerves. I've learned that the best way to overcome your fear is to just do it. Until you make yourself get on a roller coaster you are never going to move on to bigger and better ones(and trust me there are MANY out there just waiting for you). It's tough when you're standing in line and you keep watching it and the closer you get the more scared you become, but you're never going to overcome your fear if you keep backing out. Just go for it and I guarantee you won't regret it!

I felt the same way on my first trip to King's Island three years ago. You shouldn't close your eyes, because then you don't know what's coming and you'll be surprised. I kept my eyes open the entire time because it'll let you prepare yourself for what's next. I was just a little bit scared of heights, but I got on all the coasters anyway and I was so happy I did. You have to try at least once and if you don't like it, don't let anyone push you. Hope I helped! (:
