    I don't think so and here's why: it doesn't make sense. If you have an Annual Pass, why would you purchase a single day ticket for your use? Yes, day tickets - in fact any ticket - can be upgraded to a ticket or Pass of greater value. But there's no reason for an Annual Passholder to present a single day ticket for upgrade unless they obtained it from someone else, in which case the terms of use of the ticket have been violated (no ticket sharing). To upgrade a ticket or an Annual Pass, you simply pay the difference in price.

The only admission ticket that you can use to upgrade would be the ticket that you purchase for a blackout date. You can use that towards upgrading, but no other admission ticket can be used towards an upgrade. You can upgrade anytime by paying the difference in cash or by using a ticket that you purchased for your pass to unblock a date. That's how the upgrade system works.

If you have an annual pass already all you have to do is talk to someone to upgrade it to a "better" pass if you want to and pay the difference, you don't need another "ticket" to do that. If your sister wants a annual pass then she could use her ticket to upgrade for herself (don't know if single day tickets qualify for the upgrade or just park-hoppers but you could check).
