What should I expect at a six flags interview?

• Hi guys 1 week ago I have applied at Six Flags Great America for Security. Yesterday I've received a phone call from six flags HR to tell me that they want to interview me!!!! I know this position is a little more serious than applying for games attendant or food attendant etc but I want to know how can i increase my chance of getting hired and if its hard to be hired by six flags security. I'm 19 years old and really want to become a police officer later in life and I hope I can gain experience working at six flags. my questions are: Do they do group interviews for security or one on one? What questions will they ask me for security? Should I wear a tie or just casual? What questions should i ask the interviewer? Any tips for increasing my chances for the job? And importantly any other information you guys have will be much appreciated! Thank you!!

  I have never applied to Six Flags so I can't be specific on that. But I can give you some general information. First, you are making a smart choice by pursing security work at Six Flags for experience as a police officer. The key is that you are going to have lots of public contact and customer service experience. You will also respond to a variety of calls that you will respond to as a police officer and you will learn how to handle them under stress. Like any other interview, dress professionally so wear a suit and tie. Typical security questions will be based to test your judgment skills. they may provide you with a scenario and ask how you will handle it, such as How would you calm down a parent who has lost their child? Another question would be to give them an example where you had to act under stress or how did you handle a difficult and stressful situation. Be prepared to answer questions where you have to use good judgment and common sense. there is really no right answer, but make sure it makes sense given the facts. Asking the interviewer questions is just as important as it shows you are interested. I would avoid salary, but do ask about hours, work conditions, training, and expectations of the job. Good interview skills will help you get the job. Greet them and introduce yourself if you haven't alreay. Do a good firm handshake and maintain eye contact throughout. When leaving, thank them for their time and shake their hand again. If you don't here from them for a while say two weeks, give them a call to check your status. Persoanlly I would emphasize my desire to to pursue a career in law enforcement and that you think that their company is a great place to get experience. Explain why as well.
