What time does Alton Towers close at?

Does Alton Towers close some of it's ride due to the rain??

  • I am going Alton Towers tomorrow and looking at the weatehrforecast rain is on its way. I was wondering if they do close some of the rides..? thank you x

    No they don't. I went in May and it tipped it down. They only closed Oblivian when the lighting started (I don't blame them it looked pretty scary). But they opened it again once it has passed. The funnist thing was people walking around in the rain, but putting on water-proof jackets to go on the flume!!! Whats the point in that!!!!

Hiya! Not unless it is absolutely nessccary - and it rains 'regularly' there! The rides like Oblivion are now checked over after each time it has passed the station by staff, and I went a couple of weeks ago when it poured down, and they were still all going. However, these guys check for safety issues - the track is skiddy, they'll close it. I don't think i've ever been without it raining, but you still have to go on the rides to get your moneys worth. I reccomend staying at the hotel however, to get on all the big rides - if you stay over, you get priority passes to the big rides, and you get in before anyone else! (So its deserted!) Great break away even with the weather - just remember the rain coats! Most popular rides currently - Nemesis, Air, Rita P.S only go on the water rapids on a sunny hot day - let your wet bum and clothes dry quicker!

Only if theres a safety issue. You can phone them and ask or when you go in, there's boards around saying which rides, if any, are closed.

They closed oblivion once then I was there because it was skidding due to water on the track where it breaks but was soon opened again when they had sorted it out.

Alton towers do close some of the rides because i was waiting in line for Rita and it started to rain very liteley and they closed the ride for the rest of the day.
