Why is SIX FLAGS letting people bring a can of Coke to get $15 off?

It is a win-win for Coke and Six Flags. Six Flags gets more people in, and Coke gets more people to drink Coke. They throw away the cans or recycle them.

It's very likely Coke is paying them a LOT of money for the right to sell coca-cola products exclusively at six flags, and that was one of the concessions. They're still making money off of those half-off admissions, by the way, so it's win-win. The conversation probably went like this: Coke: We want to sell our products at your park, don't let Pepsi in. In return, we'll advertise your park on our cans. SF: You'll need to pay us 100 gazillion dollars. Plus, we're going to double our ticket price and use your coke cans as half-off coupons, that way people will still pay full admission but think they're getting a deal, and they'll be buying more coke in order to take advantage of this "discount" Coke: Since we're going to make 200 gazillion dollars by selling coke at your parks, it's a deal.

....... Coke has a deal with them (Obviously). So that people buy MORE coke and in that respect once they bring the bottle to six flags they get the free ticket. It's all about business.Not only that but because of this deal six flags will get even MORE customers coming in, because they are getting great deals.

It's an advertising promotion between six flags and coke, trust me six flags isn't losing any money :))

It is a trade off- Coke is advertising the amusement park on their specially marked cans and twelve pack boxes, and in return Six Flags is also promoting coke sales by offering the discount.

I wouldn't know for sure, but sometimes the park owner can get a better price for the COKE or whatever brand they sell inside the park if they offer this discount. It gets more people to buy Coke and more people to attend -- so both the park and Coca Cola win.

Just a guess, but I bet Coke has part ownership in Six Flags (not to mention the beverage concessions). Besides, the prices for tickets to the amusement parks are all big-time inflated anyway. If they knock $15.00 off the price of a ticket but they double the number of people going to Six Flags by offering this incentive, they'll still make lots of money.

Yes,, just to advertise Coke, Coke pays them millions of dollars to advertise their product in all their commercials and then they can offer a discounted door price to encourage people to come to the park. It is a way for 2 companies to advertise together and share the advertisement prices and both benefit
