Finding a Bartender Job?

Becoming a bartender worth it nowadays?

  • I'm 21 years old, I live in So-Cal, I was wondering if it's really worth becoming a bartender. I mean the classes seem relatively easy and I'm sure I'd get the whole thing down to a science after several months but what are the chances of finding a job if your only experience is a couple of bartending classes and what kind of places would you apply to as a start ?

  • Answer:

I did it for 15 years and loved every minute my friend. One thing to remember is that it IS a business. I never took any classes and my first job was at a local pub just filling in. Cruise around the pubs you're near and put some feelers out to the owners. Cheers mate Johnny

Sure. As long as you save you money, do not become addicted to alcohol or drugs, and have an exit strategy. You don't want to be a 30-something bitter bartender hating your dead-end job.
