What do you think is the best American beer?

Why do people drink canned beer?

  • Aluminum is bad for you and has been linked to Alzheimer’s. Canned beer is low class. I don’t like the way it looks and can't stand it. I've felt this way ever since I was 16-17 years old and still do. When I drink a beer I want one thing: high quality. If I have to pay more for it – even better. I want something expensive and pleasing to the pallet I can enjoy and savor. In my opinion about 3% of American beers are good (Like Yuengling ). I prefer imports. It’s all about the unique high quality process, the specific country or region it was produced in and the story behind each beer. For instance many beers made in Europe have hundreds of years of tradition behind their labels. Even island beers like Kalik (Bahamas) or Carib (Trinidad) are locally produced with a unique taste. Do you think you’re going to find this in a watered down can of Milwaukee’s Best? What is it with younger people and canned beer? I was recently at a party, in of all places, Laguna Niguel which is a one of the richest areas Southern California. The house was HUGE. I believe the owner was the Vice President of a large corporation. In any case the host and hostess came back with cases and cases of canned beer. Bud Light and Miller. Anyways what was I saying? Oh yes. Why do people drink canned beer?

Simple. Quantity VS. Quality. unlike you and your too good for anyone tastes, most folks drink beer for the buzz, Sure, I could drink imported french wine everyday, but who would want to? I don't care how expensive it it is it still tastes like wine and I hate wine. Same for beer. Beer is not about sniffing, or letting it breath, beer is about getting plastered and having a good time. Don't get me wrong I have certain imported beers that I don't often have access to that I hold in high regard, but for the most part a beer is a beer and it's time to get the party started. So you and your snooty too good for the rest of us beer presumptions be damned, we are gonna drink till we have had our fill and we don't care who is watching. best of luck with that. lemme guess you are single huh? just a guess. Best of luck with you and your beverage snobbery., me, I'm gonna drink whats available and have a good time.

So I HAVE TO ask you this....WHO CARES???? Are U drinking the beer out of a can?? NO...so then what's the problem...You probably prefer a bottle or however else you might like beer...Either way..I know probably got on and asked this question to sound like a connoisseur but U sound ignorant..... BUT to answer ur question...Aluminum chills the liquid faster, it's cheaper than glass, so on and so forth... AND by the way...Aluminum HASNT been linked to Alzheimer's...so before you post anymore BULLSHIT on this site, check your sources first and stop trying to sound smart...leave that to me

cool kid

well, because it's cheap. you can get a lot of it way cheaper than you can imports. it's easy to buy for a party because everyone will drink it...unless they are snobby about their beer. the snobs can bring their own beer. plus, it's really easy to recycle aluminum, and can be a little more trouble to find a glass recycle receptacle. just a few reasons.

Lady Misfit

because cans are lighter, easier to carry, they don't shatter, and not very many people have died after being hit over the head with one.

shizzle

because they CAN.............lol.

Amanda

They are lighter, don't break, and they chill faster. Flavour and quality are not very important when it comes to the American concept of beer.

Your information is a little out of date. Cans are now lined with plastic; if you're tasting metal, you're biting into the cans And more breweries are putting their beers in cans. Canned beer can be sold in places where bottles aren't allowed, like sports arenas and airplanes. Try beers from Oskar Blues Grill and Brewery.

My dad drinks it because it's cheap. Like for after work. On special occasions or when friends come over he has nicer beer. He also like his scotch once in a while. I guess canned beer for him is just something to drink.

It's safer to be holding a can in your hand, rather than a glass or a glass bottle, when you're staggering around drunk.
