Why do people drink alcohol if alcohol makes them angry and sad?

  • Why would people put alcohol in their bodies if it doesn't make them feel good and it makes them angry and sad? I know some people drink because it makes them happy but if it makes some people angry or sad, what's the point? Why would people want to feel worse?

    That's a good question with a complicated answer. It comes down to the chemical changes in the brain brought on by addiction--they feel they need it to manage, even though it doesn't help and only makes things worse. Without going into excruciating detail, an addict's brain is simply different from other people's, and reacts differently to the alcohol.

because people like to have another mindset. and liquor at first makes most people happy, and then they drink to much and bam, it hits em. and thus starts the chain reaction of sad and angry... this is why i drink, but not to an extreme...also smoking weed is illegal, but if it was legal, people would be happier, trust me. some people don't take the risk, others move to Colorado or Cali or other medical cannabis states, which imma do soon

The Truth

Many people once they have too many drinks, just don't care! Granted, alcohol can bring out moods, and it is known to accentuate moods and repress inhibitions, but it does not actually create a happy or sad, angry or whatever mood. It just magnifies what is already there !!! Peace.

they drink it because they are usually trying to cover something up in their life. they are trying to avoid things too. they are trying to disguise feelings. and some just want to feel 'good" :/
