How much do bartenders make including tips?

  • Lets say you're funny, nice, outgoing, and attractive; plus you are a good fast paced bartender. How much could you make a night or in a year in a big city like Chicago. I want to get a job at a bar when I go up there for college. im a bartender in destin fl. ALL touristy. so i only have a steady job 8 mo out of the yr. BUT... i make about 200-400$ a night. Do the math. Its dang good money!!!!! But also hard work. very stressful

Your hourly wage is low (in Texas its usually about 4.00 per hour plus tips) But we make mad cash ( keep in mind, usually bartenders tip share - and usually a busy bar has up to 7 bartenders) and you also usually "tip out" your bar backs ( they clean up when people leave, help run food to your guests) but usually at least 100 per night (100 would probably be a slow night though) MOST i ever made in 1 shift was 416.00
