What do you think is the best American beer?

Is Guinness the best beer ever, I think it is. I think it's far better than our American beer, do you?

  • To me American beer tastes like what I would imagine piss tasting like if it were bottled and sold on the open market. I get sick of all of the hype that BU.........D LI..........GHT and Miller LI.....te get, as they say in Tennessee, lol. In my opinion they suck. Guinness is SO....smooth and there is nothing that can beat it in my opinion especially on tap. It's a man's beer, unlike the urine that's so popular in America and especially the south. I love the south because it's where I was born and raised, and I have ancestors who fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War, but their (the south's) taste in beer sucks. What do you think?

american 'macrobrew' as you are referring is generally looked down upon around the world. there are tons of amazing microbrews that are widley distributed across the US. Go to a bar with more than 5 beers on tap and try one you havent had before.

There are other countries consider to have much better breweries than US. You should try to broaden your experience before declaring Guinness is the best.

Guinness is a great beer and is one of my favorites. However, different occassions call for different beers. Guinness is a sipping beer. Sometimes you want a gulping beer. I still like something such as Harp or Amstel better than most American beers though. Guiness is not just for me either! I have a friend who says as recently as in the 80s, doctors told pregnant women to drink a Guiness a day for vitamins and good carbs. I don't know many southerners, but I always laugh when people in the midwest think Rolling Rock is a premium beer. My dad drank that stuff when I was a kid and he would tell you it is no premium beer!

Tricky Q which will raise the hackles of many a local brew fan. I think you should travel the world, taste as many beers as possible and THEN make up your mind. Belgium has perhaps the best selection... Check out the UNOB for more!

Ales are far superior to lagers once you try you will never go back! A few of my favourite ales: Caffreys, 80 Shilling, IPA, John Smiths. The creamy head on Guinness is the best head on any beer but I prefer my ales for overall taste.

My husband loves it. I think its a little heavy for me. I like most ambers but it also matters if I am sitting down to a serious drunk or just being casual.

never had the guinness beer but been drinking in the states alot,their beer is so weak,bartenders have given me free beer because i've bought so much, to try for a buzz on american beer is very hard,makes ya pee alot though.
