Any good sushi restaurants in Paris?

Sushi Restaurants are racist! Or is it just me?

  • I have been searching miserably for a job at a sushi restaurant in Houston. Why sushi? Because I have been a waitress at Japanese restaurants for more than 3 years now. I have even worked my way downtown at a more upscale restaurant. However, I want to move up even higher! But it seems to be difficult because I am not Asian. I am an African American girl that is 1/4 Japanese. I actually speak Japanese near fluent because of my father. But even with my experience, and gifted tongue, I am never given the opportunity to even meet for an interview. Even places that obviously have a "NOW HIRING" sign, reject me at the door or tell me that they've "run out of applications". I am very attractive, raised by a good family, and attend a university. I am very outgoing and extremely good with the customers. Of all restaurants I've worked at, I have always obtained the MOST regulars and highest TIPS! (I'm a COMM major for Christ sake) But what REALLY ticks me off, is that the Asian servers hired are all Vietnamese, Korean, or Chinese??? Even the owners are not Japanese? And what makes me more upset, is when I dine at these places, the SERVICE either SUCKS! Or the servers' English is awful??? BUT! They are hired at this expensive sushi restaurants instead of me and other friends I know that are not Asian. Is it wrong for me to think they are just being racist?

    Maybe they want to create an Asian image so if the Asian looking servers speak bad English, that's even better. Is that racist? Maybe. I don't know...but I really feel sorry for you and I hope you'll find a good job. (And this is my personal opinion as a Japanese but Sushi restaurants run by non-Japanese are no good taste-wise.)

why take u so long to find that out. Underneath that yellow skins they r racist people just like other racists people . I know some who read this don't agree with me.so what the hell if I care. Maybe u have a body like Tyra Bank u get better chance, then if u have a body like her u don't need to be a waitress. I hope u find something.

no, you're not wrong. I'm asian, and i hate asians. People say I'm racist. I am in a way, but I also don't hate someone just because the color of their skin right off the bat. In fact, I have friends of all races. I do despise asians because their personality. They are very highly regarded by people for no apparent reason. Everything about them is untrue - they ARE NOT generous at all, are (in my opinion) one of the most discriminating races of all, AND they are not in the least bit bright. They have no concept of common sense, either. Unfortunately, the highest paying asian restaurants are owned by one of the most discriminating races, Japanese. (koreans and chinese top them, so don't try to find work there either.) Instead, why don't you try a french restaurant? not to be racist, but I notice they usually accept blacks and french alike.
