Traditional Food From Paris?

  • I'm doing part of my French GCSE course work, and I have to write a post card 'from Paris' I'm supposed to write about things like the sights and food and drink and stuff like that. Does anyone know any food that's traditionally from Paris? I looked on the internet and could only find Champignons de Paris (French Mushrooms) Please help!

Paris as the capital, gathers a little bit of every other region's food, but if you are just going to write about what you found there, heres my list. -Fillet de saumon aux herbes (salmon seasoned with fresh herbs) -Steak au poivre (steak and pepper sauce) -Soup a l'oignon (onion soup originally from Lyon) -Croque monsieur (a sort of sandwich with ham, bechamel sauce and gruyere cheese) -Croque madame (as croque monsieur but with a poached or fried egg on top) -Paninis (mini baguettes with different fillings, chicken, ham, salmon) -Crepes -Quiche Lorraine (tart with cheese and bacon, originally from Lorraine) -Tartares (raw or sealed ground meat with vinaigrette and salad) -Terrine de foie gras. As for the drinks, Cafe au lait (coffe+ milk) Chocolat chaud (hot chocolate) Bière (beer) Panaché (beer + limonade) Kir (white wine + cassis) Vin blanc and vin rouge Champagne Calvados. I guess thats enough,
