It is just a question of trying to bring yourself to eating something new. Ask a trusted friend or a family member to put something in your mouth to try and then concentrate on what you taste, the texture and then try and identify it after you have swallowed. Only then as what it was and look at it and try again. Many people will not taste new things form what they look like, or the smell or what they are. Once you have learned to open your mind you can use your eyes and tastes to truly decide if you like. In some cases you may like some thing strong like a chilli, or a very mild one.

You could go to a restaurant with friends. If you try Indian food, go for a mild dish like Korma, or Passanda. Both are creamy and mild in flavour - nothing hot at all. These go well with Peshwari naan bread, which is a sweet tasting bread. For Chinese, try something like sweet and sour chicken. You could even try going to a buffet style restaurant where you can choose from a variety of dishes. Trying new foods is not as bad as you think, It's more an adventure.

I have a daughter who, as a child, was a very picky eater. I never 'plated up'. Food was served on serving dishes and if it was something unfamiliar, they took a small portion . If they liked it, they came back for more, if they didn't like it then they had to eat the food which they had put on their plate. A few years ago, when she was 35, she said, 'I eat everything. You made sure of that and I'm grateful'. However, she did add, 'But I'm still not keen on liver'. Try it! Just take a little. You might surprise yourself. There's a whole world of culinary delights out there and you're missing them.

I was moderately fussy until I went to college and became a vegetarian and has to feed myself on tight budget. I thought I hated a lot of vegetables so I made a lot of curries where i knew I was eating them but the taste was mostly masked. With this and the need to be polite eating other people's food I ended liking pretty much anything.

Why not when you go out each time for a meal with family or friends try something as you can not say you do not like till you have tried ok your not meant to like everything so once you have been out a few times and tried it will get easier so be adventures.

I used to be like you, but i started trying new foods and it was yummy, im obsessed with noodles now as i used to hate them! I think you should try by eating little things youve never tried or dont like :DDD
