How to make chilli sauce?

Can I blend Scott Bonnet peppers with Jalapeno and Red Hot Chilli Peppers to make a hot sauce?

  • Or with it taste weird?

  • Answer:

I am sure it will be fine, but I do not care for the taste of scotch bonnets and jalapenos combined. They have distinct strong flavors that I do not find compatible. I cook with all three (not at the same time) and occasionally make pepper sauce. I suppose it depends on how you prepare your sauce. My favorite is scotch bonnets if I can find them or habaneros, vinegar, garlic, cilantro, green papaya, and lime. (I like it very hot and tangy.) If I want a more balanced sauce, I go with scotch bonnets, vinegar, carrots, onion, garlic, ginger, and pimentos. I could more easily see mixing the red hot chilies with the jalapenos or scotch bonnets, but it certainly cannot hurt to mix all three. At least you’ll know whether you like it. =-) Good luck!
