How much is the average salary for a sushi chef?

Depends on a lot of stuff. In my town, they don't pay any chef very much. Restaurant pay has a lot to do with the economy in the area. The better the economy, the more that people go out to eat and the higher the wages are for restaurant employees. Also, the miniumum wage in your state makes a difference. The higher the minimum wage, the less a restuartant owner can afford to pay his staff. I would venture to guess that the average rate of pay for any type of chef in the US is maybe $30,000 - $40,000 per year. Your best bet woud be to go down to your local emplyoyment department. They will list the average wages for all jobs in your city. And I'm also assuming you know the difference between a chef and a cook. If you get a job as a cook in a sushi restaurant, you won't make very much money. Chefs are the managers of restaurants. They make a much higher wage than the cooks.
