Why are people who get their coffee from STARBUCKS usually better looking than those who go to DUNKIN DONUTS?

Dunkin donuts/starbucks employees, please help!?

  • I clean my coffee pot, use filtered water, etc. but i can not get my coffee to taste like the coffee served at the shops. i used to go to starbucks but, went on a budget, and now i'm hooked on dunkin. i love both, but all i want is to be able to make coffee at home that tastes like the store. what do i need to do, measurements, etc? is it a certain cream or sugar? thank you in advance!

  • Answer:

I make my own quad grande non-fat lattes at home sometimes. I buy the syrup and coffee from Starbucks, use a good organic milk (better than the one they use), etc and I've FINALLY perfected it. With espresso, you have to make sure you are grinding the beans to the correct texture (fine). For coffee, I recommend a quality coffee pot. I have a Cuisinart that grinds the coffee prior to brewing it and the coffee taste EXACTLY the same as it does when I go to Starbucks. Another tip.... store your coffee in an air tight container in the fridge. Filtered water is important too.

I don't really know much about coffee, I very rarely drink it, but I wanted to help you, because I understand. The other day I was at a donut shop with my husband and I got a Starbucks cold mocha in the glass jars. And he said why do you need that, we have coffee at home, you can just add ice to it. My exact words were "it doesn't taste the same" I still got it and my husband thinks I am nuts... Anyhow here are some links I found for you, hopefully they help a little... http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Good-Pot-of-Coffee http://allrecipes.com/HowTo/Homemade-is-Money-Saved-Coffee-Shop-Treats/Detail.aspx http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080924155521AAWiDcZ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgA4R7AxblI

I'm in Canada so I don't get Dunkin' Donuts but from my own experiences with our local equivalent: 1) Try adding 1/4 tsp ish of salt to each pot 2) A tiny bit of cinnamon 3) A tiny bit of vanilla or make vanilla sugar (if you take sugar obviously) Sometimes coffee pots make the water too hot which doesn't make for great coffee. Try a percolator or french press (check out second hand stores you can often find many different coffee makers very cheap)

You need to buy the industrial strength pots and pans. The coffee makers, etc. And then, don't clean them so much.

You might purchase a Bunn coffee maker. They are close to commercial quality pots and make coffee very fast. They are used in a lot of offices for this reason.

Are you grinding your own beans? If not, that will help alot. You can get an inexpensive coffee grinder at walmart and you can buy inexpensive beans at the grocery store. If you're using pre-ground coffee, that's your first mistake.
