How bad is artificial sweetener for you?

Is it the COFFEE / ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER causing it?

  • first, coffee has never agreed with me but i like it so once in a while i try to drink it and just see. well, the past week i have been drinking some decaf in the mornings with artificial sweetener ( sweet n low ) the past three days i have dealt with an ongoing headache on the left side of my head. this morning, all felt okay, i had a couple cups of coffee and went to the store, next thing i know i had a very painful headache in the same place. am i right in believing either the coffee and or artificial sweetener is causing it? why does that stuff just not agree with me??

  • Answer:

You can try to see if it's one or the other. Try the coffee first without the sweetener and see if you get a headache. If you don't, then it was the sweetener. If you still get the headache, then it's the coffee. But remember, if there's something else your eating with your coffee, it may not even be the coffee or the sweetener but something your eating. btw, usually it's caffeine that doesn't agree with people and causes headaches after the affects start to wear off. Just one of those things. Different things don't agree with different people. with me it's alcohol( my body just can't handle it).

Because it is poison. I get violent headaches from any form of artificial sweetener. How about honey or agave, more nutritious than sugar, and way better tasting than sweet and low. :)
